Hi, this is Jill Cuthbert
I have just returned home following an orthopaedic operation, feet, and need to keep my feet up virtually constantly for 2 weeks at least. Ideal time to really force some diet rules, ie no binging or late night feasting. Lots of rest and light meals and just water and herbal tea to drink.
I am going to be off work for at least 6 weeks, most of the time with my feet up. Normally I am so busy running around including a full time job, eating on the hoof; with quite an erratic eating pattern, often eating late at night. I always seem to be fighting weight gain.
Well just a week in, and I seem to be losing weight easily. I am taking prescribed pain killers initially for the first couple of weeks which helps me rest.
My diet has been:
Wake up: Red Bush tea, milk and sweeteners
Hour or so later: 2 apples
Breakfast: approx 9am large bowl bran or branflakes
Hour or so later: More Red Bush tea
Lunch: Either boiled egg salad, spinach, tomatoes olives or wholemeal toast, chunk of low fat cheese and tomatoes
Mid afternoon: Red Bush tea, fruit,
Dinner: Various salads including protein, eg tuna, eggs, seafood, chicken, beans, olives, lemon juice dressing
Mid evening: more Red Bush tea
During the day and night plenty of sips of sparkling water
For snack attacks during the day: Red apples
Lets see what happens tomorrow
